Many times I will see something, and remark on what makes it unique, what gives it it’s identity. I develop this element and envision how to utilize it, to make it into something new and unexpected. My work is about discovery; it is about being fearless; it is experimental. Each piece brings me closer and closer to whom I am, who I want to become.

From bold throw marks, to balancing textures and surfaces, my true passion lies with the glazes. In colour, texture, finish, ceramics is not just visual, but tactile. I want to remind us all, that beauty is far more than just what we can see, but what we are, what we feel. I take functional forms and change them into something more. I want each piece to be individual, I want the user to hold and feel its beauty, not just behold its surface.

Ceramics gives me a sense of calm, of purpose. As I grow, so too does my art. It is incredible to see the progress, to see how I’ve grown. To see this so clearly, to imagine what I will be years from now, to have such a visual representation of my journey astounds me, leaving me in awe of what the future holds.
